Lithuania makes good progress on Corruption Perception Index 2009
Lithuania has improved its position in this year’s Corruption Perception Index (CPI) in comparison to the previous year, the Transparency International informed on 18 November. After few years of worsening situation in the fight against corruption Lithuanian got closer to the threshold at which a country is considered capable of dealing with corruption.
STT will assist for Anticorruption Department with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of the Azerbaijan
The Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania (herein – STT) won the bidding in the Twinning Program of the European Union for providing assistance to the Anticorruption Department with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of the Azerbaijan. Last week the STT and the European Commission signed the contract on project implementation.
Seimas confirmed the National anti- corruption program
On Thursday, May 14, the Seimas (Parliament) passed the resolution amending the resolution titled “On Confirmation of the National Anti-Corruption Program of the Republic of Lithuania”. The action plan for 2009-2010 provided in the National Anti-Corruption Program (herein- NACP) will be implemented by the state, municipality and public entities and social organisations.
STT was member of the EPAC partners working group “constitution”
April 20 to 21 the STT representatives took part at meeting of the working groups of the EPAC (European Partners Against Corruption) < http://www.epac.at > and the EACN (European Anti-Corruption Contact-Point Network ) in Vienna.
