April 20 to 21 the STT representatives took part at meeting of the working groups of the EPAC (European Partners Against Corruption) < http://www.epac.at > and the EACN (European Anti-Corruption Contact-Point Network ) in Vienna.
On Thursday, March 19, the anti-corruption section officers of the SOCA (Serious Organised Crime Agency of the United Kingdom paid a visit to the STT. The purpose of their visit was to find out the possibilities for cooperation between the STT and the SOCA in corruption associated offences.
The results of the survey titled “Lithuanian Map of Corruption 2008” were announced on March 4, 2009. As to the institutions expected to efficiently reduce corruption in Lithuania the respondents were most positive about mass media (49 per cent) and the Special Investigation Service (28 per cent) and the number of people determined to take part in anti-corruptive activities had increased.
Together with its international partners the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania (STT) implemented a one year project titled “Strengthening of Fight Against Corruption”.
