Moldavians are to be presented with Lithuanian anti-corruption experience

Moldavian delegation meets STT officials

The Heads of the Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption of the Republic of Moldova (Moldavia) are to visit Lithuanian on April 4-5th. The purpose of this visit is to get acquainted with the Lithuanian anti-corruption sector and activities of the Special Investigation Service (STT).

The visit will take place under the joint project on the European Union and United Nations Development Programme aimed at the restructuration of the  Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption of Moldavia based on good practice of European Union countries.

“The fact that it was experience of our state anti-corruption sector that Moldavians chose when performing this project is a certain evaluation of our consistent work and efforts put into the anti-corruption area. STT is prepared to assist, advise colleagues carrying out internal reforms and seeking to become closer to the EU”, - says Aidenas Karpus, the 1st Deputy Director of STT.

In the course of the visit, besides STT officials, the Moldavian delegation will meet with representatives of the National Security Group of the Presidential Palace, Commission on Anti-Corruption of the Seimas,  Prosecutor General‘s Office, Chief Official Ethics Commission.

Moldavian officials are interested in STT activities, division of functions when investigating corruption offences (STT, Prosecutor General‘s Office, etc.), corruption prevention measures, anti-corruption public education, findings of sociological studies on corruption occurrence.
