STT and the Lithuanian Ministry of Health encourage society to be intolerant towards corruption in the health system and refrain from giving bribes to doctors.
Starting from next week, polyclinics will display anti-corruption video clips on their informational monitors. These video clips also invite people to report cases of corruption to STT.
Other subordinate medical agencies and institutions are also invited to support such dissemination of anti-corruption ideas.
This initiative was prompted by public opinion surveys which reveal a huge encounter with petty corruption of people in the medical sector. Admittedly, the initiative to give bribes mostly comes from patients or their relatives.
